This notice describes the information The Strange Game actually handles today. It does not invent tracking, analytics, or services that are not in the application.
What we collect
If you only visit, listen, and play, The Strange Game does not ask you for an account.
If you sign in, we use the email address you provide. If you buy Studio Credits, payment is handled by Stripe, and we keep a Studio Credit ledger tied to your signed-in account.
Why we use it
Email is used to sign you in and to recognize your account. Studio Credit records are used to remember what you purchased and what remains available. Payment details are used by Stripe to complete a purchase.
Accounts and sessions
Sign-in uses Supabase Authentication: your email and a six-digit code. A session cookie keeps you signed in on that browser until you sign out or the session ends.
The public site works without signing in.
Payments
Stripe processes the purchase, including card and billing information. The Strange Game does not store card numbers.
After a successful payment, Stripe tells The Strange Game enough to credit the correct account. We keep identifiers such as the Stripe event, checkout session, and price used for that purchase.
Studio Credit records
The Studio Credit ledger stores your authenticated user id, the credit amount, a reason, related Stripe identifiers when a purchase created the credits, and a timestamp.
The account screen shows your current balance. It does not show card information.
Pointless Points
Pointless Points live in your browser’s local storage. They are a playful local score. They are not sent to The Strange Game’s servers as an account record, and they cannot buy Studio Credits or interpretations.
Interpretations
Paid AI generation is not enabled on the live service yet. When it is, a succeeded interpretation may be stored so you can hear it again. The intended launch rule is that paid interpretations stay private to the purchasing account and do not become public catalogue pieces unless you later choose to share one.
A local prototype can currently list stored interpretations by song without requiring a sign-in. That prototype behavior is not the intended paid product, and it must be corrected before paid generation is turned on.
Service providers
The live service uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and the Studio Credit ledger, Stripe for payments, and Cloudflare R2 for original and interpretation audio files.
Those providers may process infrastructure or service data needed to run their systems. GitHub is used for source and deployment, not as a customer analytics product.
Mureka is a planned generation provider. The Strange Game does not currently send customer data to Mureka in production, and production generation is not enabled.
Analytics
The application does not currently include an analytics product. There is no application-level tracker such as a marketing pixel or product-analytics SDK.
How long we keep information
Account, payment-related, and Studio Credit records are kept as long as they are needed to operate the service, complete purchases, and meet legitimate accounting or legal needs. This notice does not invent a specific deletion timetable.
Your requests
There is no automated account-deletion button today. You may write to ellis@thestrangegame.com with privacy or account-data requests.
Some records may need to be kept for legitimate legal, payment, or accounting reasons.
Security
The Strange Game uses ordinary protective measures for a small service — signed-in sessions, server-held payment and ledger writes, and no card numbers stored here. No site can promise perfect security.
