The Strange Game - Debut album

Song Lyrics

Now I’ve come to my twilight time

Where perceptions are so sublime

I’m not sure what’s yours or mine

And it’s so easy just to cross that line

The gate is open, I am free at last

Still martyred to a ghost ships mast

And the clock hand it moves too fast

As the your future now becomes my past

I am reborn like the Jesus said

Resurrected from the walking dead

At the end of days if I survive

How will I know if I was ever alive?

Paid the price for what I’ve done

And I not sure what I’ve lost or won

You may not like what I’ve become

I still need to finish what I’ve begun

Through the glass of the window pane

The sky is gray and I feel the same

I know there is nothing I can gain

I have to stay until this demon is slain

This bedroom now is all covered in dust

All my memories have turned to rust

How I would lay with you in my arms

With the bells ringing in silent alarms

Beliefs not deeds are the price I paid

It’s so easy when mistakes are made

To blame the world for your own shade

The face in the mirror is the one betrayed

Now I walk a road in redemptions path

And I hear the echoes of Pilates laugh

There is no escape from righteous wrath

That looks for comfort in the rod or staff

Well I have heard the talk and the statements read

You did your deed and you made your bed

Compassion is the joke in your web of design

Forgiveness is the end to its own punch line

Stars are falling in the ocean there's a crack upon the moon

I can see all the commotion as the ship comes out of gloom

They're dancing on lifeboats like a Sunday afternoon

As the sirens are ringing out the night

She met me in her boudoir I cannot tell you why

Perhaps I'm just modest or perhaps that I'm just shy

But the skeletons in her closet wouldn't close their eyes

They were turning white from all the fright

And the lies you've been spreading

Are breaking all the rules

And the thoughts that you're selling

Is an offer we can't refuse

Dictating who's choosing

The captain of this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

The rudder is broken sails are tattered in shreds

Someone cut the pieces just to feather their beds

Now the wind is blowing through the space in their heads

As the ship flounders in the night

She took me by the hand then took me by the arm

Told me that the ocean was so gentle and calm

The rocks in the water wouldn't do me any harm

And the vultures were just seagulls in flight

And the lies you've been spreading

Are breaking all the rules

And the thoughts that you're selling

Is an offer we can't refuse

Dictating who's choosing

The captain of this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

The bridge is on fire and the cabins ablaze

The officer in charge is terminally insane

Telling the passengers this is only just a phase

While the ship is sinking in the night

She was singing a medley she was singing a hymn

It may have been strange and it might have been a sin

Now the end is in sight I know just where to begin

So say goodbye and turn out the light

And the lies you've been spreading

Are breaking all the rules

And the thoughts that you're selling

Is an offer we can't refuse

Dictating who's choosing

The captain of this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

Baby I don't want to loose you

But I just can't stay on this ship of fools

You can run from yourself
Cut the strings to your past
Til there's no place that's left
That you can run

You can run from the world
‘hind the eyes behind the mask
Til there's nowhere that’s left
That you can run

Where was I?
When I lay down next to you
Heard your words
Were they lies or were they the truth?
Was it meant?
To be a game for both of us to lose
Was it a dream from the start?

Where was I
When you said you would never go
Who were you?
When you were holding me so close
Was it worth?
When you're left with so much Emptiness
You’re left with emptiness

Play the clown or the fool
There’s no sense to your rules
There’s no heart in that place
That you call love

Turn the page close the book
One by one they’ve left and gone
Til there's nobody that’s left
That you can love

Where was I?
When I lay down next to you
Heard your words
Were they lies or were they the truth?
Was it meant?
To be a game for both of us to lose
Was it a dream from the start?

Where was I
When you said you would never go
Who were you?
When you were holding me so close
Was it worth?
When you're left with so much Emptiness
you're left with emptiness

In the morning mist

The forest stands

In the valley of the rift

Where it all began

We stood by the fire

With an empty hand

And a burning desire

To walk the land

Each step we took the earth would quake

The trees would fall and the mountains shake

We crawled up cliffs till our fingers bled

With a beating heart and a pounding head

At last we stood and the distance stared

But we’re still only half the way there

And we’re still only half the way there

Now the flowers wilt

And the forests dead

The cities are built

The rivers red

We stand by the flames

With a grasping hand

Playing strange games

We don’t understand

Each step we took the earth would cry

The mountains crumble and the oceans sigh

We covered the valley with wounds and scars

A place of shame on the road to the stars

And all the toil and tears that we shared

But we’re still only half the way there

And we’re still only half the way there

Galaxies of wealth

And Worlds forsaken

Stripped of everything

That could be taken

We stood in the heavens

Shaking our fists

Knowing there’s something

That we might have missed

Nothing has stopped our journey’s goal

We’ve given our lives and sold our soul

And out of the mists where it all began

In the valley of the rift the silence stands

At the edge of space we stood and glared

But we’re still only half the way there

And we’re still only half the way there

I am the voice of woe

I am the veil of tears

I have walked the paths of life

For all the uncounted years

You have seen me in the wars

You have seen me in the peace

In the thoughts of all disputes

In the cry for all release

If you have ever seen my outline

That no finger could every trace

And the most you will ever glimpse

Is the dark side of my face

I am the fear of every mother

I am the anger of every son

You can hear me in their words

You can feel my rivers run

In all the stories past

My themes are loud and clear

My heaven is in the future

The place I hold most dear

There is no moon or sun

Or eclipse in time and space

Can ever remove the scars

From the dark side of my face

They call me many names

I am known in all the tongues

I am worshiped in the temples

I am sung in endless songs

You may see me in the street

You may hear me in your mind

I will boldly stand in front

Or quietly come behind

In all the shades of gray

In the barrenness of waste

In the coldness of your heart

Lies the dark side of my face

I have walked with all the heroes

I am in the cowards heart

I am with the silent man

Or the crowds on the march

I can pass through all your walls

I can cross the endless seas

I live on the smallest hope

I shine through Identities

Its in the timeless halls

All shadows are erased

Within the light of presence

fades the dark side of my face
